Based on personal experience and technical knowledge, I will answer – it is definitely worth.
X64, or rather, X84-64 is a 64-bit extension of architecture X86 (X86-32). This expansion was developed by AMD, because many also call it AMD64.
In view of the fact that this is the expansion of architecture, and not a completely new architecture, the X84-64 system has full compatibility with 32-bit applications. But it is with the applications, but the drivers need to be put on the 64-bit native, although in our time this is not a problem at all.

The X86-64 system itself with drivers will eat a little more memory than the X86-32, but not 2 times, as someone wrote here. So could only say who does not understand this and generally poorly understands what he says. By the way, people are always surprised by people who begin to give advice in something that they themselves are poorly understood and poorly torn off-it’s better to just say anything, so you can’t show yourself an incompetent Dunno.

So, according to my comparison, X86-64 eats with drivers and launched background programs (firewall, antivirus, etc.) about 200-400MB more, somewhere in these chapels.
At the same time, the X86-32 system cannot physically address more than 4GB of RAM, but in the X86-64-this restriction is theoretically equal to 16 exables (16 million GB) (although in Windows this restriction is strongly castrated, so that there is an opportunity to squeeze out more money from customers). Also in the X86-32, part of the addressing is lost on various outburst devices of the motherboard, hence the loss of a piece from 4GB.

I myself am sitting on Windows 7 x64, and I can say with confidence that in the work of 32-bit applications there is no difference that under x86-32, that under the X86-64, they occupy the same memory. Only the system itself eats a little more memory and 64bit drivers, t.e. The layer between the system and applications.
But at the same time, in the X86-32, the restriction on the maximum volume of virtual memory allocated by the application is only 2GB, and in X86-64 this restriction for the 32-bit application is already 4GB, although this requires a special key in the program code when developing.
Here is an example, my friend on Windows 7 32BIT had problems with Serious Sam 3, at one of the levels a mistake about a lack of memory flew out. We tried with him to increase SWAP (up to 20GB =)) but did not help, then he installed Win7 X64 on my advice, and he no longer found this error on this system, t.e. He Windows 7 32Bit rested on limiting the highlighted virtual memory, and every month, there will be more and more similar games, so now it is already advisable to move to the X64 to all those who are inhibited by iron.

By the way, among users Windows 7, the number of x86-64 users is already markedly bypassing the number of X86-32 users.

He has a good percent, but at the same time the video card is weak, you can choose a more balanced set.
Well, I personally do not really trust Samsung to very laptops, because they began to collect them in Russia recently and the quality has fallen, although there used to be very decent laptops.

1.I do not advise gigabytes, I do not trust them … painfully sad experience with them. I can advise the mother – ASUS M4A89GTD PRO or ASUS M4A89TD Pro (the difference is that there is YUSB 3 in GTD 3.0, but there is no TD.) The mother is excellent.
